Obituary

Carol Ertel of West Carrollton, OH (Formerly of Germantown)

Born at the family homestead in Breathitt County, KY to Britton E. Tharp and Sara B. (Hollon) Tharp.

Graduated in 1958 (from Germantown). and then Married her High School Sweetheart, Wayne E. Ertel. Their marriage was an elopement with High School friends, Joan and Gene Wright.

Carol & Wayne just celebrated their 66 Wedding Anniversary with a vow renewal at Vienna Springs Nursing Facility, where they resided.

Carol was a self-employed hairdresser (Carol’s Beauty Shop of Germantown) for 30 plus years. She loved camping in their motor home and also loved Roller Skating. She and Wayne took several trips on their motorcycle with friends. Carol also loved her family and shared her interest.

Carol was in the Lady’s Club of Gratis, sponsored many softball teams and supported the local school Yearbooks and Programs.

She shared her love of music, mostly gospel at Vienna Springs.

Preceded in death by two of her siblings, Beverly (Tharp) Tibbs and Larry Tharp.

Carol has left behind her Husband Wayne Ertel, two Daughters, brother Don Tharp and many nieces and nephews.

Daughters, Lori and Sam Bloodworth of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Lisa Ertel of Miamisburg, OH

Three Granddaughters, Brittney Mcgough (Josh Garrett) 4 Great granddaughters, Avi & Mia Lee Mcgough, Blakelyn and Presley Garrett, of Aydlett, N.C.

Lacy and (Justin) Kauffman Great Grandchildren, Everly, Mac, Cole, Ross, and Henry, of Willow Woods, OH.

Myriah and (Morgan) Armstrong, Great Grandson Myles, of Troy OH

Burial with graveside service will be Saturday April 13th, 2024 at 11:00am at Fairview Cemetery Gratis, OH
