Obituary

Talbott, William Ja’mar, Sr.

William Ja’mar Talbott, Sr., affectionately known as Will or Jay, passed away on March 13 in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 37. He was born on March 2 in Dayton, Ohio.

William was a person who truly loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would talk to anybody. If he considered himself your friend, he was your friend for life. William loved people, and he loved to laugh. He will be remembered for his spirit, his kindness, and his unforgettable smile. One of his favorite sayings was, “You better say that!”

As a teenager, William participated in the Young Marines and Color Guards. He later earned his GED in 2019 and attended Sinclair Community College in 2022, where he was working toward a degree in counseling. He had a passion for helping others and bettering himself. William also had a love for football and played semi-professional football with the Dayton Bulldogs in the Professional Developmental League.

William was a member of Wayman AME Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Leadford; grandmother Ms. Al Ebenezer Millen; grandparents Theodore and Emma Leadford; uncle Kelvin Harris; and cousins Andrew and Randy Leadford.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, (Margo) Margaret E. Talbott-Patterson; his children, Aeriona Slaven, Mashayla Valentine, William Ja’Mar Talbott Jr., and Kyleigha Talbott; his stepchildren, Maleyah Valentine, Jaysiah Faulkner, Trey’von Culp, and Sharice Murray; his aunts Rozzonda Nash, Debra Harris, Valerie Johnson, and Tim Johnson; special aunt Pamela Powe; uncles Ben, Larry, and Billy Leadford; cousins Raymale and Randall Talbott, Kenny Howard, Marshelle Howard, Kenya Blade, and Christine Blade; children’s mothers Tiffany Valentine, Melissa Holley, Beth Slaven; special friends Serria Corbin, Yolonda Murray, and Justine Knight; along with a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

William’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
