Obituary

Thomas Vales passed away on September 27, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Tom was a spirited individual who enjoyed helping others. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1968. Tom began his career at St. Elizabeth Hospital and continued at Dayton Heart Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital.  Tom also worked at Meyer-Boehmer Funeral Home.  Both of his career paths naturally highlighted his ability to make a difficult situation better and displayed his tremendous work ethic.  Over the years, Tom made many close friends in his professional and personal life.

The family of Tom appreciated the extra support provided to Tom from Joan Anderson, his neighbors the Dalton Family who was constantly checking in on Tom and providing support, Father Terry Schneider, and the Spatz Family, especially Rita who provided emotional support during Tom’s final moments.  Also, in his final moments providing comfort and support, the Hospice nurses Maranda and Sandy.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Evelyn (Ev) Vales.  He is survived by his sister Robbi (husband Bill) Kozuh, niece Laura (husband Jon) Bistrek, niece Beth Thompson and nephew Billy Kozuh.  He is also survived by his grand nieces and grand nephews Olivia Bistrek, Caden Bistrek, Lila Thompson and Max Bistrek.  Tom adored his nieces, nephew, grand nieces and grand nephews and loved bragging about them as if they were his own.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at St. Luke’s Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH at 9:30am.  Mass will follow at 10:30am.  A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after the Mass at Marion’s Piazza, 8991 Kingsridge Dr, Miamisburg, OH.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
