Obituary

Thomas P. Lessis, born March 26, 1953, passed away on March 5, 2026.

Tom was a graduate of Fairmont West High School, class of 1971, and Miami University, class of 1975, where he was a proud member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. He went on to serve his community as a Kettering City Councilman from 1979 to 1983. Throughout his professional life, he worked as a real estate broker and as a manufacturer’s sales representative, building a career marked by dedication and strong relationships.

In his younger years, Tom had a passion for staying active and embraced a variety of athletic pursuits. He was a competitive swimmer, bodybuilder, runner, and golfer—interests that reflected his energy, discipline, and love of life.

Tom is survived by his older brother, James Lessis, of Fort Worth; his younger brother, Gary Lessis of Cincinnati; his niece, Angela Lessis Pack; and his grandniece and grandnephew, Lorelei Pack and Asa Pack, all of Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Irene Sopronyi Lessis.

Tom will be remembered for his commitment to his community, his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and the vitality with which he lived his life.

    Hey Gary and Jim. So sorry to hear about Tom. Tom was always kind to me. He gave me lessons in weightlifting as a teen and later encouraged me to get my real estate license. Funny how songs always remind you of a time and place. I remember Tom washing his white Chevy while blaring Na na na na ,na na na na hey hey hey good by on the radio in the driveway on Brooklands Road. He could quote lines verbatim from the movie Cool Hand Luke.
