Obituary

Ronnie Lee Evans

Age 77 of Dayton, Ohio passed away quietly Sunday January 18th.

He was born to Wanda Evans on December 11, 1948 at Holden Hospital in West Virginia, close to where the family lived at Trace Creek.

Ronnie was proud to be a Marine Corp Veteran. It allowed him to serve his country and live in places like Southern California, The Coastal Carolinas and the tropical Okinawa, Japan. He would still tell you that none of it compared to West Virginia. He also enjoyed fishing, a Red’s game and the TV Guide Crossword puzzles, just not in that order.

Surviving him are sisters Frona Lemaster, Edie (Butch) Williams, Reta (Carl) Lloyd, loving aunts to Rhonda Scott, Dawn (James) Frasher, Ronnie D (Andrea) Evans, Misty Evans and daughter-in-law Delia Evans. 14 grandchildren, 5+ great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his companion of 30 years, Rebecca Adkins and her children and grandchildren who will miss “Pops”.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father Robert Cooley, son, Ronnie Lee Evans II, grandson, Bryant Evans, sister, Donna Harrison, two brothers Robert Cooley Jr. and Lloyd Glen Evans.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 from 1-4pm at the Amvets #24 located 1016 Leo Street Dayton, OH 45404.

Ronnie’s last act on earth was the gift of organ donation. This was made possible through Life Connection of Ohio. Please consider making a donation to them in lieu of flowers or gifts. https://www.lifeconnection.org/charitable-contributions
