Obituary

Ricky Lee Hymer
April 14, 1960- February 7, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished father, Ricky Lee Hymer, 64, of Dayton, Ohio. He passed away on Friday, February 7th, 2025. Born on April 14th of 1960 in Dayton, Ohio to Earl Hymer Sr. and Georgia Lee Wilson. He was a devoted husband to Brenda Kay Hymer and a loving father to Randy Lee Hymer, Mark Anthony Hymer, and Trisha Kay Hymer.
Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent many years working as a painter with his son Mark. He was known for his dependability, attention to details, and the ability to do the job right. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.
Though Dad may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of good work ethics, kindness, and generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Dad’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed working on cars, taking his dog “Puppy” for walks, and spending the holidays with his family, often spending his weekends at home with his grandchildren. His love for his family was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade .
Deeply mourned by his mother, Georgia Lee Wilson of Clinton, WA, siblings, Deborah Marie Hanks of Ruffin, NC, Daniel (Jona) Hymer of West Milton, OH, Jeffrey Alan (Debra) Hymer of Beavercreek, OH, Diana Pauline Abraham of Dayton, OH, Cheryl Glennetta (Greg) Hill of West Carrollton, OH, John Edmond (Kelly) Crickmore of Union, OH, and Janette Frances (Ronn) Nelson of Clinton,WA; children, Randy Lee (Deborah) Hymer of Dayton, OH, Mark Anthony Hymer of Dayton, OH and Trisha Kay (Nicholas Crooks) Hymer of Beavercreek, OH; grandchildren, Isaiah Majestic Bulgin of Dayton, OH, Ilexah Kay Bulgin of Beavercreek, OH and Drayton Timothy Ward of Beavercreek, OH, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. Dad was preceded in death by his father Earl Hymer Sr., wife, Brenda Kay Hymer, and brother Earl Hymer Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Glickler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1849 Salem Ave. Dayton, OH 45406.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
