Obituary

Patty Butts, age 88, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Patty lived a life centered around her family, whom she loved deeply and cared for endlessly. She had a passion for gardening and found great joy in creating beauty around her home. Her home was truly her heart, and she cared for it with immense pride, always making it a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. Over the years, she was blessed with wonderful neighbors whose kindness, support, and friendship became like family.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Forrest Gordon; her beloved husband of 68 years, Kenneth Butts Jr.; her son, Karl Butts; four sisters; and one brother.

She married the love of her life at the young age of 15, beginning a beautiful journey alongside Kenneth that spanned nearly seven decades. Together, Patty and Kenneth built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories.

Patty is survived by her children: Kenny III (Kitty) Butts, Mike (Rhonda) Butts, Kim (Chuck) Hall, Kathy (Pat) Engler, Keith (Nikki) Butts, and Tina (Rick) McQuitty; along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service honoring both Patty and Kenneth will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Greene County Fairgrounds Dining Hall, 120 Fairground Road, Xenia. A gathering will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service.

A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family, where Patty and Kenneth will be laid to rest together at Maple Grove Cemetery.
