Obituary
Nancy Lee Gilmore (née Nordenbrock), age 84, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Kettering, Ohio.
Born on January 3, 1941, in Massillon, Ohio, Nancy was the daughter of Carl Nordenbrock and Agnes Nordenbrock (Fick). She grew up in Kettering and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1959, where she was a proud member of the National Honor Society.
Nancy dedicated much of her professional life to public service. She worked for the Department of Defense in shipping and receiving at the Mound facility in Miamisburg. Her commitment to civic duty extended further as she served as an Ohio notary public and spent two decades working for the Kettering City Court system. Her work reflected her strong sense of responsibility and dedication to her community.
A devout Catholic, Nancy cherished her relationship with Our Lord through weekly Mass, communion, and bible study. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and brought her great comfort and joy.
Nancy had a vibrant personality marked by a playful spirit and a sharp wit. Her dry humor often brought laughter to those around her. She found joy in simple pleasures—relaxing on the front porch, indulging in sweet treats and ice cream sundaes, or spending quiet moments with a good book or a Hallmark movie. She loved gardening and sewing, hobbies that reflected both her creativity and nurturing nature.
Above all else, Nancy treasured her family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and celebrating Christmas—a season she embraced with warmth and delight year after year, which now she will enjoy for all eternity.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Ron Nordenbrock and his wife Kathy; her sons Michael (Wendy) and Douglas (Tara); grandchildren Brittney (Ben), Nick (Anna), Dylan (Kimberly), and Erica (Glenn). She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Aiello, mother Agnes Nordenbrock (Fick), and father Carl Nordenbrock.
May Nancy’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Nancy’s family would like to express their gratitude to Vienna Springs health campus for creating a sense of home and to Ohio Hospice for their excellent care during Nancy’s journey to the arms of her Lord.
