FLOREA, Joan Ann

It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Florea announce her passing on July 21, 2023 at the age of 79. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Joan was born to Frank and Clara Lang on March 29, 1944. She worked as an Executive Secretary and later as a Hospital Admitting Clerk in an emergency room and outpatient diagnostic imaging center. She had a way of making others feel at ease in difficult situations. She enjoyed spending time with her family, who were the light of her life. She was known for her cheerful, welcoming, and kindhearted personality.

Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joe, daughter Melissa Wilkins (Dave), son Michael Bokatsch (Jamie), step-son Brian Stastny (Angel), step-daughter Audra Herter, step-son Scott Florea (Christine), grandsons Nathaniel, Caleb, and Christopher, brother Richard Lang (Pat), sister Rosella Lane (James), brother Danny Lang, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan is predeceased by her parents Frank and Clara Lang, sister Nancy Burke, sister Betty Walter, brother Frank Lang, sister Geraldine Cherry, sister Clara Lang, and sister Roberta Combs.

Joan will be honored with a memorial service at Glickler Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Memorial donations in Joan’s name may be made to the Fraxa Research Foundation to help find a cure for Fragile X Syndrome or to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton to thank them for their compassionate care.
