Obituary

James Wallace Hawkins Jr., 60 was born April 24, 1962 and received his wings on January 20, 2023 at the Kettering Health (Grandview) Hospital. James was the born in Frankfort Kentucky and lived most of his life in Dayton Ohio. He was baptized at an early age. He attended Highview Elementary School and graduated from Meadowdale High School where he was an outstanding football player. 

James, affectionately called Jamie was employed throughout the city of Dayton in a number of venues to include Tobin Movers and Dayton Fish Co. Jamie was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and touched many lives with his laughter and loving spirit. He will be missed by all in his life circle.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Wallace and Jean (Gaines) Hawkins Sr., maternal grandparents, Wm. Jack and Carmen Ercell (Allen) Gaines, paternal grandparents Thomas and Mary (Anderson) Hawkins, Maternal Aunts and Uncle, David Gaines, Jeanette (Gaines)Williams, Mary (Gaines) Pope, Shirley (Gaines) Carr; Paternal Aunts and Uncle Thomas Hawkins, June Hawkins and Anna Hawkins Gordon. 

He leaves to cherish his memory sisters, Deborha Million and Ercell Hawkins Vaughn, nieces Toyan Million and Grecia Vaughn, great niece Naemah Nzerum, uncles, John Hawkins (Suitland Md), Gene Carr (Huntsville, Ala), special cousin, Reginal Hawkins, devoted partner Francina Carr, longtime friends, Louis (Butch) Carter and Terrence Nelson along with a host of other cousins and friends.
