Obituary

James Allen “Jim” Contway, 67, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on August 29, 2025. He was born in Montana and proudly carried the spirit of the West throughout his life.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran who carried his resilience and determination into both his personal and professional life. Over the years, he pursued many ventures as a business owner and later spent time on the road as a truck driver, a job he approached with the same grit and work ethic that defined him.

Jim was known for his strength, independence, and magnetic personality. People were naturally drawn to him — he had a way of filling a room with his presence, humor, and energy. Passionate about music, movies, and the many experiences life had to offer, Jim lived with enthusiasm and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Ryan Contway, Matthew Contway, Jordan Contway, and Harmony Roebuck. His family will remember him for his larger-than-life spirit, his charisma, and the warmth he shared with those around him.

A memorial service to honor Jim’s life will be held on Friday, September 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Glickler Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio.

Jim will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
