Obituary

Henry Lee Orr, age 75, of Riverside, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio.

Henry, who was better known as Hank, was born in Irvine, Kentucky on June 24, 1949.

He is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Tipton, his father Arnold Tipton, his son Josh Orr, and his brothers Richard, William, and Thomas Orr. His beloved sisters in laws Tammy and Anna Orr and best friends Jimmy (JR) Rawlins, Richard Young, Herman Jones and Thomas Brown.

He is survived by his sons Arnold Orr (wife Wendy Orr) of Texas, Branden Orr (Megan Johnson) of Ohio and his two Grandchildren; Tallah Orr and Justin Apple. As well as, his brothers Jerry and Gerald Orr, along with numerous special and honorary nieces, nephews, and very close friends.

Hank graduated from Stebbins High school. He was employed at Highland Machine Company where he worked until his retirement. Hank was extremely passionate about pitching horseshoes, bowling and playing golf. On Friday nights at Plaza Bowling Center, after bowling he would go on stage and tell jokes and was able to have the crowd in the palm of his hand. He was a member of the Amvets post 24 and the VFW post 6560. His sons were his pride and joy, he loved to discuss Arnold’s latest bowling scores or how Branden played golf that week. Hank also enjoyed getting to talk to Tallah on the phone and listening to her update him on her school and activities. Another favorite pastime was listening to his friends play music while often singing along, and nobody could play air guitar like Hank.

Hank was an amazing father, grandfather, and one of the best friends a person could hope to have. He loved to make everyone laugh. He seemed to be one of those people who simply enjoyed life. His family and friends meant the world to him, and he strived to make those around him happy. He was a kindhearted, genuine, and a truly wonderful man, and will be deeply missed. The memories of our time with Hank will never be forgotten and will keep us laughing for years to come.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday November 16, 2024 at 2:45 pm, at Vfw post 6560. The address is 5483 Wadsworth rd Dayton, Oh.

Hanky Panky was always happy & enjoyed life. I loved coming & leaving the golf course & playing HANKY PANKY on my radio very loud. Everyone I knew always said Hank always made them smile and happy. Always remember he would always say your golf shot sounded GOOD. Rest in peace Hanky Panky the golf leagues will never be the same again.
