Obituary

GARFUNKEL, Dr. Felix age 95, passed away Sunday September 6, 2026. Felix was well known in our Dayton Jewish Community. He was  a member of several congregations and attended and participated in many programs and events. Felix was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Erika Garfunkel and his daughter, Rabbi Janice Garfunkel. Felix is survived by his 2 sons; David (Isabela) Garfunkel and Michael Garfunkel, 6 grandchildren, Marcus Garfunkel, Isaac (Netta) Garfunkel, Aliza Garfunkel, Eliana Garfunkel, Noah Garfunkel, Jack Garfunkel and his 2 great grandchildren, Koa Garfunkel and Elvin Garfunkel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 9th at 1:00 PM at the Beth Jacob Cemetery Chapel 4001 Old Troy Pike Dayton, Ohio 45404. Rabbi Judy Chessin officiating. Shiva will be observed on Wednesday from 2:30 to 5:30 at the residence of Helen Markman 10983 Pennfield Road Centerville Ohio 45458 with minyan beginning at 5:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday at the same location. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton in his memory. Glickler Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
