Obituary
Eric James Harman’s soul was set free to the universe on February 8th, 2025. He was born August 23rd, 1956 to the late Carroll and Jean (Graham) Harman in Compton, CA, and most recently resided in Bidwell, Ohio.
Nature and the outdoors were his happy place, whether it be the ocean, the river or the Appalachian Mountains. He was able to dedicate most of his life to nature through being a gifted land surveyor, having walked and traveled hundreds of thousands of miles in his beautiful life. He had a way of taking the scenic route in life, appreciating small moments; taking his time. Even his stories took the “scenic route,” and he will forever be remembered through his stories and his unending love.
His love lives on through his wife, Dinah, their children Matthew and wife Lori Knopp, Elissa and husband James NeeSmith; his grandchildren, the lights of his life: Madisyn, Griffin, Gwen, Liam, and Jackson; also his mother-in-law Jenetta Bowers; as well as his siblings, twin sister Susan and older brothers Mark and John; and, of course, his special dog, Ryleigh. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his father-in-Law, Thurman Bowers of Bidwell, OH. Eric was close to his extended family and leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ne Oublie, dear Clan.
Eric’s memory can be honored by donating to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (www.4hcm.org), to St.Jude’s Research Hospital, or to the Salvation Army, each of which he held close to his heart. Also consider donating to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, whom we owe a special thank you for their kindness, compassion, and outstanding care.
