Obituary

Elizabeth Churchill Sager, age 53, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Huber Heights, Ohio, on January 14, 2026. 

Elizabeth was raised in St Petersburg, Florida but relocated to Ohio in 2014. She graduated with a degree in dance from the Gibbs school, a magnet school for the performing arts. 

For the past 12 years, she shared her life with Robert Mathis, the love of her life. Elizabeth is survived by her sister Jessica, brothers George and Thomas (wife Tina), her beloved niece Elle, nephew Wilson and a great niece. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur Rodman and Ernestine Sager (née Presley). 

Elizabeth enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid runner and cyclist. She had a passion for dance and was a fan of classic literature, including Kipling and Shakespeare. Elizabeth was a gentle soul who was deeply committed to the protection of animals, rescuing and providing a safe haven for cats and dogs alike, often going without to insure they were well fed, happy and healthy. Elizabeth was an independent spirit who managed to persevere even in the most difficult circumstances. The world will be a lessor place without her.
