Obituary

Deanna Carol Augaitis, age 80, of Riverside, Ohio, passed away on November 17, 2025. Deanna was born on October 15, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She spent her childhood in Flemingsburg, Kentucky before moving to Dayton, Ohio.

Deanna graduated from Miami-Jacobs Community College with a degree in dental assistance and worked for many years at Simon Dechatlet Dental Lab in Dayton, where she took pride in the hands-on craft of making dentures.

Deanna was strong-willed and never afraid to speak her mind, but that was simply who she was—and we all loved her for it. Her worry for others showed through constant checking in, calling during bad weather, and keeping tabs on anyone traveling until they reached their destination. She cared in her own way, and she cared deeply.

She loved a clean house, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and watching movies on the couch with her kids. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating, putting peanuts in her Coke, listening to the jukebox, treating herself to chocolate malted milkshakes, and giving everyone in the family sloppy kisses.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Dale Augaitis, who was exceptionally attentive, dedicated, and loving throughout her life. Dale made sure she always had everything she needed—whether it was comfort, support, or care. He stood by her with unwavering commitment every single day.

She is also survived by her children: Robyn Shipskie, Rick Spurlock, and Rodney Spurlock. She is preceded in death by her son, Josh Rogers (passed 2014), and her beloved mother, Margaret Mitchell (passed 2024) and great grandmother Lispie Bell (passed in 1980).

Our hearts are truly broken to have lost Deanna. We loved her more than words can ever express, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. While we grieve deeply, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain. Most importantly, she is reunited with her precious baby boy, Josh. A moment she longed for and now finally holds in eternity.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Willowview Cemetery, 2500 Neff Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45414.

She is loved and will be missed by everyone.
