Obituary
David J. Klass
1968 – 2025David J. Klass, a devoted father, family member, friend, entrepreneur, and world traveler, passed away of natural causes on February 10, 2025, at the age of 56. Born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1968, David was the beloved son of Harriet and Donald Klass (deceased 2023) and brother of Deborah Klass (deceased 2015) and Michael Klass.
He grew up in Centerville, attending Centerville High School before going to college at Wright State University. His career began in San Francisco, where he worked as a financial advisor and broker for over a decade. Eventually, he returned home to Dayton to take over the family real estate development business, bringing vision and dedication to his work while also serving as president of the Dayton Home Builders Association. He also volunteered as an integral part of the Sister City Committee for Dayton and Augsburg, Germany.
David’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to start an import and distilling business, where he created Vi Aquavit, a brand that reflected his passion for culinary arts and culture. He split his time in Ohio and NYC pursuing this passion. His curiosity and love for adventure took him across the world, where he attracted many friends with his exuberant personality and built strong, lifelong friendships.
Above all, David was a proud and loving father to his daughters, Natalie and Vivian Klass. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

You were way to young to die, David your going to be missed. I loved having you as a son in law, when you were married to my daughter. Holly

I will always appreciate the contribution David made to the Sister City Committee of Dayton, and his efforts to make our connection to Augsburg Germany. May he rest in peace, now and forever
