Obituary

Anne L. (Stoehr) Joyner age 92 of Centerville, Ohio passed away May 12, 2026.  Preceded in death by her husband Richard R. Joyner, a sister, Carol Stoehr and parents Robert and LaRue Stoehr. 

Survived by children, Jill (Daniel) Matchette, Peggy (Chris) Johnson and Richard (Vickie) Joyner.  She also leaves grandchildren Daniel Matchette, Karen (Taylor) Trahan, Matthew (Alyssa) Johnson, Virginia Johnson, Parker (Elly Cross) Joyner and great grandchildren Sunday Trahan and Logan Johnson.  

Anne grew up in Dayton, Ohio and was a graduate of Fairview High School and Indiana University. She retired from being an elementary teacher with the City of Dayton schools.  Upon retirement they sold their Kettering home and moved to their house at Duck Lake near Traverse City, Michigan.  Later they bought a motor home to travel and eventually ended up at Llano Grande Resort at Mercedes, Texas where they purchased a property.   After her husband’s death Anne eventually moved back to Ohio 

Anne enjoyed staying active and enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong, pool, book club and many other games.  She cherished her lifelong friends from the Dayton area as well as friends from the “Duck” where she loved being involved in planning theme parties. She also made many friends in Texas from her years there. Anne built numerous lasting friendships and memories.   

Family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 3, 10:30 – 11:30 at the chapel in the mausoleum at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton Ohio.  Memorial service will follow at 11:30. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. 

Her family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Village and Touching Hearts for their compassionate care over the last few months.
