Obituary

Alice Gean Jones, 75, of Dayton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on August 13th, 2026. Alice was born in Barry, Alabama, the youngest child born to L.C. Snow Sr. and Flora Nell Snow.

Alice attended Weaver Elementary School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1969. Alice enjoyed being a part of Roosevelt’s marching band, where she tossed the baton in the air and caught it while marching to the beat. Alice worked her first job at The Biltmore Hotel downtown where she bussed tables. A career consisting of production and hospitality kept her busy throughout the years. Special interests included cooking, softball, crossword puzzles, game shows, rollerskating, and traveling. Alice gave birth to two (2) children, Marcia Latrece Jones and Gary Lynn Jones II. Married to the love of her life, Mr. Gary Lynn Jones. Alice loved her family very deeply and was always there for encouragement, support, and a listening ear. Alice was someone you could depend on, and the sweetest. God rest her soul.

Alice is survived by her sister, Shirley Woods (Bedford), daughter Marcia Latrece Jones, and a host of family and friends. Alice was preceded in death by L.C. Snow, Jr., Flora Nell Snow, Flora Mae Snow, Gary Jones II, Sylvester Snow Jr., and Sara Snow.

The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to nieces Unique Packnett, Allbonie Packnett, Kristen Packnett. Special love for nephews Paul Packnett and Christian Unique Packnett Adams.
